Powertrains and Transmissions
A 2.0Litre Turbo Diesel engine powers the Tata Harrier; Tata has given the machine the name Kryotech. The 2.0Litre engine comes from Fiat, and the same engine is the engine that powers the Jeep Compass Diesel. It is expected to be between 140 and 140hp. Its 7 Seater variant of the Harrier is believed to feature the same engine but with more power output. We’ve tested our Jeep Compass with this Multijet II Diesel engine and must say that the machine has a high level of refinement. The engine’s power is smooth, with a thumping mid-range and high-end that is a good fit. There’s no information on the possibility of a Petrol Engine variant of the Harrier. It is speculated there is a possibility that Tata Harrier will be offered a 6-speed Torque Converter automatic transmission. The automatic tranny is believed to come from Hyundai. We’ve been on the road with Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson. Using Hyundai’s 6Speed Automatic, we can confirm the smooth shifting that comes with this Hyundai Automatic Gearbox. Its Torque Converter gearbox isn’t fast-shifting, but its ease of use and power handling are excellent. The Harrier will come with a 6-Speed manual shifter, too. Harrier will be available in both 2wd and 4wd versions. Harrier is available in 4wd and 2wd versions.

Platform sharing Jaguar Land Rover
The Tata Harrier was designed on the “Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture (Omega Arc) based upon the Land Rover D8 platform. It also supports the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the Evoque and the I-Pace It. The D8 platform has been tested over 22 lakh kilometres, and Harrier is the most recent Vehicle designed to use it. Platform sharing with Land Rovers means the Tata Harrier will gain from driving characteristics shared with Land Rovers. The same platform-dependent floor pans, steering, and suspension are all independent.
New Design Language – Impact Design 2
Tata Harrier was the very first Tata vehicle to be built upon the new Impact 2.0 style of design. The Company’s final product rolled off the production line in October appears precisely like the H5X Concept Tata presented.
Front
If viewed from head-on, when viewed head-on, the Harrier appears sloppy with a broad stance and an arched wheel that is flared. The front of the car is dominated by its New charcoal black grille that sports an iconic TATA logo, a honeycomb grille, and faux skid plates surrounded by the body cladding made of plastic completes the front bumper. The front light cluster is unique and is based on the current design of automobiles. Style and we’ve seen similar front light sets for the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) dominate the upper, and the Dual Barrel Projector Headlights are below the DRLs, within a different cluster. The Fog lamps sit below the Headlights within this same group. It’s a fascinating design, and it looks fantastic when mounted on the Harrier.
Rear
It’s not a Nexon that has a complicated rear side. The rear light of the Tata Harrier is attractive and somewhat similar to its counterpart, the New Porsche Cayenne. The taillights extend across the back fender up to the lid of the rear boot towards the opposite side. The reverse and turn lights are integrated into the taillights. The fog lamps in the rear are situated near the bottom of the bumper. The rear bumper is also home to two fake exhaust tips. However, the Harrier has only one direction for exhaust. Harrier Badging: Harrier Badging is in the centre, below the plate housing for the licence plate.
There’s a Shark fin antenna on the roof, a piano black finish and a Rear Roof Spoiler attached to the high-mounted brake light. The rear window is also equipped with a defogger, the rear wiper and wash system, reverse camera, and Parking Sensors.
Side
The Tata Harrier is a stunning side profile, and it has a strong shoulder line between the front fenders and the rear. The 18-inch alloys are accentuated by massive wheel arches that bulge outwards, making for a very masculine style.
With plenty of space in the wheel arches, larger alloy wheels or wheels shouldn’t be an issue. Request sensors to allow keyless entry are available on both doors to the front. The Harrier has black C and B-pillars that give it a floating roof.
A Smart aluminium strip is brushed beginning from the high point of the A-pillar all until the C-pillar. The Glass space is ample and creates an airy and bright space inside. The front doors feature an angle along the window line to enhance the visibility of the ORVMS.
Interiors
If the interiors in Nexon and Hexa were anything to be judged by, then it is likely that the Tata Harrier will take it one step further. There is a report of Tata sourcing an 8.8inch infotainment system from Visteon. Visteon is the supplier of the infotainment as well as additional components for Jaguar Land Rover as well. Tata cars have always featured the most impressive car audio systems, and Harrier will come with one of the best of the Visteon family. Like the Hexa, the Harrier will feature a premium 10 speaker system with a subwoofer that could be anticipated.
